Featuring a standard 9-pin serial port and on RJ-45-type 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, the IRF-633 device server becomes a perfect solution when integrating an asynchronous device to a TCP/IP-based Ethernet network. By deploying the IRF-633, users can retain investments made in legacy serial devices. Simply use the rear-panel DIP switches to activate several connectivity modes - such as a terminating resistor or console mode - and the IRF-633 quickly incorporates the serial device into the existing Ethernet network.
By simplifying the integration of the existing asynchronous serial devices - such as PLCs and SCADAs - within an Ethernet network, the IRF-633 represents a cost-effective solution for network administrators eager to keep device-replacement costs to a minimum. The design of the IRF-633 allows for straight-forward "plug-and-go" operation. Additionally, the compact form of the device translates into installation flexibility _ it is suitable as a standalone (desktop, wall-mounted) or as a module within a converter chassis or on a DIN Rail.
